Writing
is the foundational element
conjoining all I do.
I not only enjoy writing
tremendously, but have
a deep appreciation for
writers. My affection
has less to do with the
fact that skillful writing
can be a painstaking
endeavor requiring self-discipline
and perseverance than
with the self-exploration
involved in stringing
together words that capture
and hold the reader's
attention, while clearly
expressing ones perspective.
When I share that I've
written or am writing
a book, quite often,
my disclosure elicits
both bemoaning and admiration.
This is largely because
most folks feel they
have a book inside them
but have throttled the
inspiration to begin
the process of bringing
it forward. The challenge
seems to exist at many
levels. A minister friend
(who completed her first
book a couple of years
ago) shared that her
hesitancy centered around
her belief that she had
nothing to say that had
not already been said.
For most, the thought
of invoking the discipline
to remain true to the
process of getting that
book out of their heads
into a publishable format
and out to the public
invokes a daunting mental
barrier that seems insurmountable.
Despite the difficulty
involved in writing and
publishing your book,
you owe it to the source
of your creativity to
follow your inspiration
to begin with the initial
step of the process.
Make the commitment to
WRITE THE BOOK! Once
you've honored the impulse,
you may discover that
the next step unfolds
in response to your commitment.
At
present, I've written
three books. They are: "The
Tao of Dishwashing," "The
Elimination of Fear," and "A
Ph.D. in Being Me." Each
of these books doles
out insight into mastering
life experiences we
each share and, through
engaging "naked
self-disclosure," each
highlights my determination
to honor my reasons
for being on the planet,
at this time.
"A
Ph.D. in Being
Me: A Path to Grounding,
Growing, and Gifting
Your True Self," is
a three (3) volume
work: (Grounding,
Growing and Gifting).
Its underlying
premise is the
need for authentic
self-knowing, which
arrives through
a clear understanding
and acceptance
of all the factors
that coalesce to
unfold our path
and shape our being.
Despite a common
belief that the
past is best forgotten,
utilizing the events
of my life as a
model, Volume 1
(Grounding) makes
a case for closely
analyzing our past
to ensure that
we are truly present
to the benefits
and gifts tendered
by the people,
places and processes
that have facilitated
our quest for authentic
self-expression.
Considering
the soul or consciousness
as a "dish" upon
which we place
our humanity as
an offering in
service to others, "The
Tao of Dishwashing
- Tasking a Master
Soul" is a
6 disc audio book/workbook
that utilizes the
task of hand dish
washing to share
a process for ridding
ourselves of any
impediment to maximizing
the moment. Through
embracing the task-at-hand
with the highest
levels of honor
and gratitude,
we build our souls
into vessels to
honor; vessels
into which can
be poured the benefits
of life mastery.
In a way similar
to how dish washing
is dismissed as
a lowly endeavor
best automated
or left to others,
our willingness
to embrace and
apply ourselves
to all we do with
fervency and reverence
has suffered a
similar fate. This
book is a guide
to a restorative
process that will
ground each of
us in principles
that are key to
finding fulfillment
in every aspect
of our lives.
"The
Elimination of
Fear: A Blueprint
for Honoring Our
Humanity," also
a three part series,
is a clarion call
to divest ourselves
of our historical
and debilitating
subservience to
fear. Part 1: "Fear
at the Roots," delves
to the core of
how fear is embraced
as an indelible
and needful additive
of the human psyche.
As a tool skillfully
wielded by governmental
agencies, religious
institutions, employers,
educational bodies,
friends, family
members and we
ourselves, fear
has usurped the
power of self-determination
and become the
principle motivator
in the lives of
most. Having gained
our collective
endorsement as
the most effective
method for extracting
the desired results
from a presumably
immature and unruly
populace, we are
now confronted
with the results
of having surrendered
our right to self-determination
to those who are
masterful at the
art of fear manipulation.
